Shawlands sits south of the Clyde in Glasgow’s Southside, with most student housing in red sandstone tenement flats on streets like Pollokshaws Road, Kilmarnock Road, Skirving Street, and the streets around Queens Park. The area has a strong independent cafe and restaurant scene and is popular with University of Glasgow and University of Strathclyde students who want a quieter Southside base than the dense West End tenements. Shawlands sits outside the Glasgow LEZ but we use LEZ-compliant vehicles for all Glasgow collections. Tenement upper flats with shared close access are standard. Permit parking applies on busier streets. Tenancies end in early to mid June. Typical Shawlands residents store five to eight boxes.
